Eligibility

  • All central government pensioners including officers of the All India Service
  • Members of Parliament, Ex- vice president, Ex-governors, Ex-MPs, Ex-Judges of the supreme court and High courts
  • Ex-Governors, Ex –Vice Presidents and Freedom fighters.
  • Family pensioners are also eligible.
  • Central Government servants residing in pre defined covered areas (~ 5 KM radius fro dispensary)
  • Pensioners residing outside CGHS covered areas can also join
  • Family = spouse, dependents
  • Dependents = Parents, children, sisters, widowed sisters, widowed daughters, minor brothers, if their income from all sources is <3500 per month
  • Sons up to 25 years age OR start earning OR marriage; daughters up to marriage OR start earning (whichever is earlier)
  • It has been decided, in consultation with the Department of Expenditure, to revise the income limit for the purpose of providing CGHS coverage to the family members of the CGHS covered Central Government employees to “Rs.3500/- plus the amount of dearness relief on basic pension of Rs.3500/- as on the date of consideration”.(w.e.f january 2009)
